I can't think of any good reason to go out to the theater. Man o man, I can find tons of choices other than going to the theater. There are several reasons to stay home and watch movies. Just imagine:
- We don't have to get dressed
- Pillows and blankets are everywhere
- P.j's on
- Hair in a bun (who is going to care?)
- Curled up on the couch
- Popcorn, Candy, and Soda (prices are super cheap at home)
& let's not forget the refills are FREE (plus, we can pause for bathroom breaks...)
Now, think about this... No crazy traffic... That alone would make it worth staying home for me. Who likes trying to find parking? Then hiking your butt and the kids to the door.
Look at that...We get to stand in the concession stand line! Waiting to buy that yummy for our tummy (overpriced) popcorn and soda pop... Because it makes the movie a million times better, don't you know?
Oh, man... Let's not forget, the eight-foot-tall man who sits right in front of you before the movie starts. What about the loud chewer with a two-year-old right behind you. Once they turn down the lights, ten more folks are going to need to cross right in front of you.
After all, these lovely folks have parked their asses in a seat, the movie starts... So does their mouths. I hate talking or texting while my family and I are trying to enjoy what we just spent 100 dollars to see... Yes, I did say a 100 dollars. Between the tickets, the candy, the food... We go through at least that much.
I used to truly love going out to the movies, but anymore it's too much of a hassle. The girls and I can veg out at home without stressing over other people. If we want to sleep through the movie, that's okay too! When we wake up we'll just start it over.
To me, there is no doubt staying home to watch movies is way better. I love to be comfy and have a homemade dinner with my movie. Snuggling with my kids while watching movies is one of the best things in the world to me.
Always remember, you will watch a ton of crappy movies in your lifetime and only truly remember a few of the good ones. The best part about sharing movies with your family at home... Is, you get to hear their laughs not a group of cackling kids. Or, feel the moments they become scared... I love not having to share those small insufficient, yet very intimate moments in our lives.
*Just a funny note* Ladybug can eat 6 bags of microwave popcorn!!! All by herself... So it is way cheaper to stay home with that one. I save a mint alone right there.
