Is this just me, or...
Have people forgotten how to talk? I don't care what word you put on it, but... Banana Chips! People are creepy... Please, allow me to explain this to y'all.
My house eats dryers, (mentioned in an earlier post) because of that little fact I refuse to put yet another dryer in this hungry house of mine.
Instead, I haul my wet laundry to this awful place called a laundry mat. I'm almost certain the oddest people go in these places... It's not like the movies, where you see some cute guy folding his clothes. The guy I meet this morning was more than a little off character...
He stood on the other side of the large washers, you know. The ones that hold 50 loads. Well, he just stood there... Leering at me...
That was... fun... At first, I tried to act like I didn't notice him, but quickly found out that wasn't going to work. He kept looking from his phone to me... Like I was about to catch him watching porn or something... Trust me! I didn't care what he was doing.
So... Finally, I said hello. Still nothing... Not even a fake smile... Made my skin crawl. Not in a good way either... More of an ax-murderer kinda way.
After another 10 or mins or so, of this nonsense, I finally tell him "Yes, I do porn! You would know my work..."
That got a reaction from Mr Odd. All of a sudden, he moved away from the door... I wasn't sure what was about to happen(I may have even flinched a bit). To my surprise, the icky man smiled. It was scarier than him just watching me. His teeth were yellow and brown. It was gross in the worst way.
Once my tummy stopped rolling... I noticed a small woman washing her dishes in the sink. It was the trashcan that she had used to carry in a load of dishes that caught my attention. She was literally doing her dishes, right here, at the laundry mat.
I just thought to myself, people need more real friends. Get away from the phones and computers! Learn to socialize with each other! That way places like the laundry mat, stores, and gas stations don't cause these crazy awful faux pas.
When I am out at the store I tend to people watch, looking around. The only people who stop to talk are the older people in our town. The ones who know what life is like without Facebook updates chiming on their cell phones.
When is the last time you sat down at the table with your family... No cell phones! I'm not talking about a holiday meal... I mean a regular Tuesday night meal. Ask your kids, what happened in their world that day?
Trust me their world is so much different than yours... They have their very own set of worries and problems. Every day my kids tell me something I didn't know about them. It's only because I turn off my cell phone and quit worrying about emails.
Life is ever-changing and I want to be a part of my kids' life more than anything else in the world.
Take the time to learn about your family...
