Shoe Shopping

Kids picking out shoes, Oh boy.

My god, I'm starting to think I may be on drugs. (haha) The girls each needed a new pair of shoes. I had the bright idea to take them to Atwoods and let them pick out boots... They had to try every pair on the shelf. As if that wasn't bad enough, Nana Goat didn't like any of them and Ladybug wanted all of them.

Somehow, I have managed to keep a nice pair of boots for 16 or 17 years now. In the first few years, I wore them daily and then I just put them up for a while. I love my lace up boots and can't image ever giving them up.

Standing there looking at all the boots. Most are so ugly I can't believe people would buy them... Unfortunately, they do buy them or they wouldn't be here.

When I think about what a boot should look like I think more along the line of work boots. I'm looking at these things that have glitter and lights on them. Have you ever heard of this crap? Why do they need to dress up a boot? Nowadays, women and children can't just run in and grab a pair that fit. Nope, they get to pick what gaudy-ass design and how much crap they want on a pair of them.

Nana Goat tried on pointed toe, square toe, and then what I call normal boots. But no go... There wasn't one pair she liked and she tried on every pair in her size. Always complaining that they were hurting her foot. So I handed her the next size up. Guess what? Too big, no surprise there. Come to realize that Nana Goat isn't a western style boot girl.

Ladybug, on the other hand, loves western boots. That's not to say she didn't try on every pair in the store. It made me smile like crazy when she ended up choosing the pair I liked and had told my friend a couple weeks back I wanted her to get. It's funny how much alike we are sometimes.

These too silly willy's of mine wore thin ankle socks to try on shoes. I had to bust open a pack of thick socks for my two goobers. It was alright because they needed them anyways with winter coming soon.

The next day I set out to find shoes for Nana Goat. Afraid this may turn into an odyssey... She's not the easiest to find shoes for sometimes. Famous Footwear was kind to us after about 5 pairs Nana Goat found a pair that she liked. No lace converse, that were pink and black. Only after she said those were the ones she had to have, my friend finds a pair of boots to show her.

Well, as you can imagine she tried three different pairs. Till the magic moment, she spotted black lace up boots. It was game over. She loved them.

Must say... I hate shoe shopping. It sucks and it takes to long. Plus, I'm always thinking about all the other sweaty gross feet that have tried them on first. Just knowing how much fun my girls had keeps me smiling. Watching the girls having a blast and watching my friend spoil the girls makes me laugh. She loves to spoil kids, even her own kids.

I'm just glad that they all had a wonderful day.

Retail therapy is good for the soul.
